IUMI Webinar: Cargo theft - minimising risk in global supply chains

Today cargo crime is an industry in its own right. It takes many forms, from sophisticated cybercrime and the establishment of fake hauliers down to most basic cases of tarpaulin curtain cutting. The Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) is a business organisation that unites global manufacturers, logistics providers, freight carriers, insurers, and law enforcement agencies with the common objective of reducing losses from international supply chains. TAPA’s Security Requirements are recognised globally as the industry standard for cargo facility and transport security. TAPA’s Incident Information Service (IIS) constantly captures and shares data, enabling users to view the latest cargo crime intelligence and to avoid incident ‘hotspots’.

In this webinar Thorsten Neumann, Director APS Channel Security & Business Resilience at Microsoft and Chairman of TAPA EMEA, will discuss the impact of cargo theft looking at the following aspects in particular:

  • Latest crime statistics, trends and developments
  • Introduction to TAPA
  • TAPA standards: Facility Security Requirements (FSR), Truck Security Requirements (TSR), Parking Security Requirements (PSR)
  • Public-private partnerships such cooperation with law enforcement agencies

Following the presentation Thorsten stands ready for a Q&A session with the participants.
