In 2013, the Canadian Board of Marine Underwriters (CBMU) created a bursary to encourage and enable new or younger marine insurance professionals to attend the IUMI conference. Ten years later, the American Institute of Marine Underwriters (AIMU) followed suit. The aim is to facilitate new or young professionals broaden their experience and knowledge of the wider marine insurance community. The award covers conference registration as well as related travel expenses.
This year, the two successful recipients are Courtney Schaller who is Managing Director of Ocean Marine Underwriting for The Hartford based in New York City; and Steven Miotto, an Executive Underwriter at Allianz Commercial based in Toronto.
