Piracy and other criminal acts continue to be a concern in various regions including the Gulf of Guinea and the Gulf of Aden and they have been met with an international response as well as a series of guidelines and best practice from IMO and other agencies.
Additionally, hostility and conflict exist in Ukraine and Gaza and their impact on shipping continues.
IUMI is closely monitoring these situations and informing its membership accordingly. We strongly support the international response and we endorse best practice and guidelines issued to protect seafarers, vessels and cargoes who might be impacted by war, conflict and/or criminal intent.
