The Emissions Trading System (ETS) is a cornerstone of the EU’s policy to combat climate change. The scheme has been extended to include maritime transport emissions from 2024 onwards. Together with the monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) of ships’ emissions it is one of the EU’s primary tools to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in maritime transport.
In this webinar three experts will provide an overview of what the ETS is. The implications for the maritime industry, including contractual requirements, and the impact on marine insurers will be discussed to provide a better understanding of the new rules.
