Our conference in September is the annual marker where we see some changes to our leadership.

On the Executive Committee, Sean Dalton of Munich Reinsurance America was confirmed as Vice-President. At the same time, Matthias Kirchner (AXA XL, Germany) and Tom Shinya (Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance, Japan) were both elected as Executive Committee members. They replace Kosuke Hashimoto and Timoty Lee who both stepped down having completed their terms of office; Kosuke also stepped down from his role as IUMI’s first Vice-President.

Also, in Edinburgh, Paul Hackett (Canopius, Singapore) was re-elected to the Nominating Committee and Brian Murphy (Berkley Offshore Underwriting Managers, USA) was elected to the same committee.

There were also changes to the Chairs of some of the Technical Committees and Forums. Melanie Raven (Ark Syndicate Management, UK) replaced Frank Streidl as Chair of the Offshore Energy Committee; Mike Brews (Horizon Underwriting Managers, South Africa) took over from Isabelle Therrien to chair the Cargo Committee; Neil Roberts (LMA, UK) became Chair of the Policy Forum replacing Helle Hammer; and Christopher Hesselbrandt (QBE Europe, Sweden) took over from Sanjiv Singh to chair the Education Forum.
