I was fortunate to particate on the latest IUMI Masterclass for Cargo this October. It was an incredible educational experience attended by 21 cargo professionals from 10 countries.

The learning journey was powerful, not just from the world-class speakers but also from the class-collective which added experienced insights over and above the chalkboard.

Reflecting on the session as a member in the London Market, I would summarise the Masterclass with the following key takeaways:

• Topics are relatable, we were fortunate to hear first hand from specialists in their field, their view on what our market is facing, how the market is changing, future mindset towards risk and how we as cargo professionals can support change.
   
• Whilst there's great opportunity to use technology and AI to drive efficiency in some processes and functions the industry remains largely driven by human interaction (which I absolutely love) and this will always be a differentiator to how we provide service to our clients.
   
• Sincere, good and ethical underwriting knowledge in insurance as well as business in general is a key driver of sustainable growth.

A big thank you to IUMI for a well-structured and enjoyable three days; to our speakers - you kept us on our toes and you are truly leaders in your fields! To the talented and inspirational delegates - it was an honour and a privilege. I have built friendships and an extended professional network that will last a lifetime, and I am genuinely excited to see what will be unlocked in our companies, our countries, and our societies as a whole.
