We are pleased to announce that the Political Forum has now been renamed to the more appropriate Policy Forum. IUMI’s Executive Committee approved the name change in March 2018 to avoid any inference that the forum was politically motivated. The term ‘policy’ is considered more accurate for the overall purpose and work of the forum.

Additionally, the Current Issues List (CIL), that is meticulously prepared and amended by the Policy Forum, has changed its format. The former three categories - Action, Support, Monitor – in the list have been removed and the items are now divided into two new categories – Under review and Standing Items. This change is to allow more flexibility within the list as items tend to move between categories. The items/issues listed are now given in alphabetical order to avoid a misinterpretation in terms of priority.
